Located in the center of the Greve zone of Chianti Classico ,the beautifully situated property known as Azienda Panzanello can be found a stone throws from the charming village of Panzano. A historic estate first noted in 1427, Panzanello has been in the skillful hands of the Sommaruga family since 1964. With a total production of 40K bottles, the production is laser focused on highlighting the outstanding classic features of this zone. Notably, full concentrated flavors, high acid and notable tannins.
Of great note is the fact that Panzanello is a member of the UVP (Union Viticulture Panzano) which is comprised of nineteen members and covers 93% of the district. The UVP, founded in 1995, lays title to being the first district-wide organic zone in Italy. The collective experience of members, under the guidance of agronomist Ruggero Mazzilli is guided by a shared quest to safeguard their special strip of land that joins Florence and Siena.
