Decugnano dei Barbi
We believe in respect of nature and territory, attention to detail and constant experimentation.
Geological eras, time, and the hands of mankind have all contributed to a unique terroir.
The soil we use is an ocean floor from the Pliocene period.
The vine roots are exploring into the sandy clay-soil, among the fossils of seashells and oysters, which enrich our wines with minerals and marine flavors.
Above all we strive to produce elegant wines, exceptionally smooth and with a strong identity, appreciated by refined customers all over the world.
Decugnano dei Barbi produced the first Sparkling wine Traditional Method in Umbria (1978) and the first Noble Rot wine (1981)
Tropical fruit, honeysuckle, yellow stone fruit and crushed herb aromas shape the nose on this blend of Grechetto, Vermentino, Chardonnay and Procanico. On the creamy palate, tangy mineral notes evoking saline add depth to juicy peach, honeydew melon and lemon drop. Fresh acidity brightens the rich flavors. KERIN O’KEEFE
